[vtkusers] vtkGPUVolumeRayCastMapper ATI FireGL - AMD FirePro V7900 fails

Hi, we have a similar problem with an AMD Radeon HD 7950 on Windows 7 64 bit.
GPU volume rendering doesn't seem to produce any output (black image). The
texture based renderer does seem to work, but is nothing like the
performance and quality of the GPU ray caster. Our application works fine on
other AMD and NVidia cards.

I suspect that this is going to turn out to be a driver issue as ATI/AMD are
notorious for buggy drivers. We have tried the latest drivers (these were
updated fairly recently) and also some beta drivers. Neither seems to help
currently.

If we get anywhere with it, I'll post the answer.
