Please do reply to the vtkusers-ml, not to me !
You'll get more chance to fix your issue.

Did you have installed tcl/tk libs & dev ?

On my debian etch distro, I do have tcl8.4 _and_ tcl8.4-dev installed.
The same for python: python & python-dev.
