[vtkusers] vtkLookupTable for Discrete RGB Values

Hello,

I am having trouble implementing a simple lookup table for vtkPolyData.
What I want to do is associate each point with an index which represents
an RGB  triplet in a color table. I have tried to do this without success.
Can someone give a simple example of how I would create this and what 
it would look like in a VTK file?
