[vtkusers] ballon growing

Hi,
I'm trying to extract to surface of a head from ct-pictures (especially the
inside of the nose). I want to use volume growing. Therefor I want to place a
ball in the nose and let it grow. My problem is accessing the points on the
surfae of the ball. I tried to create the ball with vtkSphereSource.
Did anyone implement volume growing (ballon growing)?
How can I access the points on the surface of the ball.
