[vtkusers] How to read, modify, and save bitmap files?

Hi,

I'm new at this, so apologies for my ignorance.

All I want to do it load/read a color image (.bmp),
change a few things (specifically the color of a few
pixels), and save/write the image in another color
bmp file.

Can that be so hard? Help!
