[vtkusers] coordinate axes

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has ever found a solution to displaying
reference coordinate axes in the lower corner of the render window using
vtkAxes.   The axes should only respond to rotation while interacting
with objects in the render window.  I can already attach the axes
directly to an object, but I would much rather have the axes separated
to avoid clutter.  Any help would be appreciated.
