compiling vtktcl.dll with borland

I'm trying to reconstitute vtktcl.dll using Borland compilers (tried both
BCB3 and BCB4).  I am using the vtk2.3 distribution, and want to utilize
the patented algorithms.  After going through PCMaker and successfully
compiling vtkdll.dll, when I move on to vtktcl I get the linker error:

C:\...\tk80.lib contains invalid OMF record, type 0x21

The linker documentation suggests that this indicates that the .lib file is
corrupted.  Is this the case, or is there something I am missing?  Thanks
