[vtk-developers] independent components support

VTK folks,

As referred in this article (roadmap):
http://www.kitware.com/source/home/post/154, support for independent
components in GPU volume mapper is in master now. Currently we only have
one test but we are in the midst of adding some more to check various
use-cases. Please let us know if you have any questions. We are also
planning to post another update on our accomplishments very soon.
