[Paraview] Adding custom modules in PV 3.2.1

Hello,

I have tried to add a existing VTK class to ParaView, using the tutorial 
taken from the ParaView Wiki.
(http://www.paraview.org/Wiki/ParaView:Extend)
Neither using the Custom Filter Manager from the tools menu nor setting 
PV_INTERFACE_PATH
was succesful. Even the tutorial example does not work.
ParaView does not reply with an error message, it simply does nothing.
Has anybody a solution for this ?

PS: ParaView version: 3.2.1 executable for Linux 386
