[Paraview] Paraview's support of vtkProgrammable filter with Python

Is it possible to implement vtkProgrammableFilter into Paraview?

If so, is there a call to access the input data object from within the
executed script (written in python, java, etc)?

Alternatively, could the input data somehow be passed to the script?
