The symbol:


                ||V||


stands for the magnitude of the vector "V", which
you could also call the "length" of vector V.


The Symbol

                ||V||^2


is the square of the length.



You will find very useful to read the paper on the
Demons method that is referenced in the Doxygen
documentation of the Demons filter.
