Thanks for the report. Geir Arne also reported this issue a few weeks ago.

I had some time to look into it this morning and I have just checked in 
a fix to cvs.

During a cmake configuration, users are allowed to specify a device name 
for any one of the
seven ports ( IGSTK_SERIAL_PORT_0 - IGSTK_SERIAL_PORT7 )

By default, for windows platform the device names are set to COM1: - 
COM7: and
for other platforms the device names are set to "/dev/ttys0 - /dev/ttys7".

Please update your checkout and try it out using your USB with
this new configuration and let us know how it goes.
