[Paraview-developers] Moving to hdf5-1.8.x

I am confused about why take out HDF5 now that it is converted to CMake. That should make it easer to cram it into ParaView.

As Utkarsh mentioned, having HDF5 included in the source simplifies things for anyone building ParaView. If John spends 120 minutes updating HDF5 in ParaView and I and everyone else spends 0 minutes setting it up to build, that sounds like a good deal to me :-)

One of the reasons why it was included in the first place, I believe,
is to make it easier for developers/users. Once you download the
ParaView source, you have everything (almost) that you need to build
it.

As Dave suggested, external_project might be a good alternative. Or
just making it a git sub-project.
