Summary0010457: A performance regression reading Little Endian Implicit DICOM data.
DescriptionIssue 0010456 reports a performance regression issue discussed in the mailing list: http://www.itk.org/pipermail/insight-users/2010-March/035870.html. [^] However in this thread, another performance issue was discovered. As we can see in the results showed in http://www.itk.org/pipermail/insight-users/2010-March/035924.html, [^] there is a performance regression from v2.8 to 3.16 when the transfer syntax of the DICOM data is Little Endian Implicit (test 2, 4, 7). It seems to be a problem related to the DICOM library.

This performance regression is independent of the changes made to the series reader. I believe is a performance regression from inside the GDCM library.
