[vtkusers] Best way to have both Debug and Release builds of Vtk

What is the current best practice for having both a Debug and Release 
build of Vtk on Windows with Visual Studio? For example, with ITK I was 
told to just point my project's CMake to the Itk build folder that was 
used. I did not have to actually "install" anything. Is Vtk the same 
way? Is there something I can turn on to "decorate" the libs with a 
"debug" or "d"?
