[vtkusers] Rendering performance of vtkAssembly

I have 25 assemblies with 3 parts (3 cylinders) each.. Rendering
performance degrades going from 1 to 25.

Is there a way to improve vtkAssembly rendering performance or should I be
using something like vtkPropAssembly instead?
