[vtkusers] vtkSmartVolumeMapper in GPURenderMode access violation

Were you searching closed bugs as well? I found it back when it 
happened to me. At the time, it was an open bug, but now it's closed:

It certainly doesn't hurt to look at the git history of the main file 
involved in a problem scenario. If you look at the changes in 
vtkSmartVolumeMapper.cxx, they are rare as of late, so it was easy to 
spot that a commit to fix a crash was one of the recent changes...
