[vtkusers] coordinates of point in renderer window

Hello Diego,

Thanks so much for the reply. I managed to find some time for the vtk
project and to look at your suggestion by finding an older example of
vtkImagePlaneWidget, for the vtk-5.8.0 i have installed ( the page of
the one pointed to by documentation seems to be for vtk-6.1.0, and it
fails in several places, until i gave up trying to fix it ).

It looks like this tool allows you to load a plane and probe the
image-volume, which is quite nice and i will certainly explore it
aside from the next question below! The question i have right now is
if this works with two volumes loaded at the same time and making it
show them both ( i only care of the coordinate of the cross-bar, where
i point in that plane, not about the intensity value at that
location. Since i want two volumes probed and shown at the same time,
expecting the 'top' one to mask the 'bottom' one, when not-zero, there
are two intensities at each point, but i only need to identify
location, i don't care that much about the intensity itself, if that's
an impediment )...

Probably i should try myself to load two volumes and the probing
plane(s), and see what happens...

Thanks a lot for the hint,
Silviu

Hello
Have you tried the ImagePlaneWidget?
http://www.vtk.org/doc/nightly/html/classvtkImagePlaneWidget.html#details

With DisplayTextOn () it shows coordinates in the corner of the screen, very
similar to fslview.
Is this similar to what you want?
