[vtkusers] Is rendering from vtkVolumeRayCastIsosurfaceFunction a volume or isosurface?

I believe you still need to set the contour value, and it does not show
volume. I initially tried it hoping to replace volume rendering, but end up
keeping volume rendering.

Thanks.

Subject: [vtkusers] Is rendering from vtkVolumeRayCastIsosurfaceFunction a
volume or isosurface?

Hi,

I want to implement a program which allows users to drag a slide bar to
change isovalue and see a preview of what the actual surface would look
like. Once they are satisfied with a preview, they would click another
button to actually create the surface using the current isovalue.

I found vtkVolumeRayCastIsosurfaceFunction and its example looks very
promising. See the image attached. I am just wondering is the rendering in
the image still a volume? The source code uses vtkVolume and set is ray cast
function as an vtkVolumeRayCastIsosurfaceFunction, and doesn't call
vtkContour at all.

Thanks,

Joe
