*Job Description*

This opening is for a software engineer who will be responsible for the 
design and development image acquisition and processing software for 
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) systems. This job is to develop user 
friendly software interface for controlling the OCT system hardware, as 
well as acquiring, processing, displaying, and storing data and images 
obtained from the OCT system. The software engineer must design and test 
the application to meet FDA regulatory standards, by working in 
coordination with regulatory professionals and system engineers, as well 
as gathering inputs from potential users of the application. The 
software engineer will also need to be able to document and maintain 
application revisions. Prior experiences and knowledge in OCT or 
intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) technology is a plus.

*Major Job responsibilities: *

  * Developing user friendly GUI for real-time OCT imaging
  * OCT imaging application needs to incorporate control, data
    acquisition, data processing, image processing, and storage of OCT
    data and images.
  * Convert OCT images into standard medical imaging format such as DICOM
  * Apply or develop image processing algorithms for noise filtering,
    image segmentation, feature recognition and measurement, etc.
  * 3D reconstruction and processing of OCT images
  * Document and maintain records of product designs
  * Interface with system engineers during testing and development phase
  * Coordinate with regulatory personnel for meeting the requirements
    for FDA approval

*Skills & Experience*

*Experience & Training: *

  * Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
    degree and experience.
  * 3 to 5 years of relevant software development experience
  * Proficient in C, C++, Java, MATLAB, and other relevant programming
    language
  * Experience with image processing and imaging algorithms
  * GUI design for 2D/3D imaging
  * 2D/3D medical or industrial imaging experience highly desirable
  * Effective written and verbal communication skills

*Other Skills/Characteristics: *Need to work in a team andneed soft 
interpersonal skills
