[vtkusers] How to generate contour points instead of contour lines?

Dear Group, 

I wish to get *contour points* instead of contour lines as output from
vtkContourFilter. I have read documentation of vtkContourFilter class, it
says that contour points shall be generated for 1D or 0D image. 

Q. How do i convert vtkImageData as 1D array?
