[vtkusers] Dilate an image with a squared kernel

Hello community!

I need to dilate an image using a simple squared kernel (3x3), in a way that the center pixel should be replaced with the major intensity of its neighbors.

I found an approximation though vtkImageContinuousDilate3D, but the kernel is ellipsoidal, not squared. Besides doing it the hard way, is there a simpler way to achieve it?

Kind regards,
