[vtkusers] QVTK and libvtkRendering.so crashing on Linux only

I can successfully compile VTK and run the Python scripts in Tutorial folder
on my Linux box (with an nvidia card).

However, when using QVTK in a Python script:

self.vtkw=QVTKRenderWindowInteractor(self)
self.ren = vtk.vtkRenderer()
self.vtkw.GetRenderWindow().AddRenderer(self.ren)
self.ren.AddVolume(self.volume)

libvtkRendering crashes. This only happens when the script is run under
Linux OS (Windows and Mac work fine).

I am using the Qt provided by Ubuntu.
Any input and hint is really appreciated as this's been bugging me for last
2 days.
