[vtkusers] VTK to visualise/organise particle systems?

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out if VTK would be useful to me. I am working on a 
simulation based on a particle system and I need to visualise the 
results as an animation (real-time for small systems). In addition to 
that I'm looking for a suitable library to help me organising point 
cloud or particle data in a kd-tree structure.

Can CTK help me with these tasks?
