Try updating the stripper:

vtkSmartPointer<vtkStripper> stripper =
  vtkSmartPointer<vtkStripper>::New();
stripper->SetInputConnection( contFilter->GetOutputPort());
stripper->Update();
vtkPoints *pt = stripper->GetPoints();

Does that change anything?
