Whether or not this will work depends on the version of Mesa you use and
how mesa was configured.

Could you please tell us :

what version of VTK you are using?

whether or not you built VTK or installed a binary?

what version of mesa you are using?

whether or not you built Mesa or installed a binary?

what options were used when you configured Mesa.
