It _would_ be but it isnt' that way.

I tool a look through my VTK 5.2 build and I don't seem to find it  
either. At one point it was in there, I guess not any more. Maybe  
someone from the VTK team can tell you how to install VTK with a  
install_name that matches the installed location.
