[vtkusers] Scanner error message in DICOM image?

Hello,

See the attached screenshot, which shows a set of image plane widgets 
slicing through a 3D volume built from DICOM slices (read using the 
normal VTK DICOM reader). I've tried to read in the slices separately, 
but then I don't see these error overlays. Has anybody seen something 
like this before? Or is this something VTK adds itself when it detects 
inconsistent slice positions?
