Hi Wassim,

 

Other users should correct me if I'm wrong here but I think that you should
rather use ITK (www.itk.org ) (in combination with VTK) for such a task.

What you are looking for is called "segmentation" which is a rather
non-trivial task. VTK is not meant to do such things, its meant to visualize
primary.

There is also a Framework that combines both toolkits called MITK
(www.mitk.org <http://www.mitk.org/> ), maybe you could use it.
