[vtkusers] multicore CPUs

This is sure to start a "hey.. you should use this.. " pack of  
replies, this looks promising:

It is open source, cross-platform, GPLv2 with the runtime exception,  
is NOT a replacement for threads, but a higher level abstraction and  
there is an actual book available for it.
