[vtkusers] Distorted fonts -- do I need to use a text-mapper ?

Hello there,

I am experiencing distorted fonts on some occassions using
vtkTextActors and adding them using vtkRenderer::addActor2D
Do I have to use a text mapper of some kind to make the distortions
disappear ?
I am attaching a screenshot.
