[vtkusers] Slow paraview

Hi,
Perhaps someone can help me.  I have downloaded paraview 
(http::www.paraview.org) and am getting extremly slow video refresh 
rates for the application, i.e. it takes forever for paraview to 
re-paint the menus, checkboxes and screen.  Is this maybe a VTK issue (I 
know paraview uses vtk)?
I am running linux, Fedora core 6.  I run other applications with 3d 
graphics and get great, fast performance, so I know it is not my video 
card.
