Hello friends,
Again coming back with my questions about installing VTK in linux.Frustrated by installing VTK in linux I installed in windows and started working in windows. But I again tried to install in linux and again the same problem. This time i used ccmake.I can compile without error. But when I run built examples, such as Cone,Cone2 etc ,only colored background is seen,I don't see the cone. For Cone2,the printing comes out in shell, but no cone in the window. Also I tried with the Medical1,but the error shows:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[root at localhost bin]# ./Medical1 /usr/local/share/VtkData/Data/headsq/quarter
ERROR: In /usr/local/src/VTK/VTK/IO/vtkVolume16Reader.cxx, line 343
vtkVolume16Reader (0x8b77a58): Can't find file: /usr/local/share/VtkData/Data/headsq/quarter.1
ERROR: In /usr/local/src/VTK/VTK/Graphics/vtkPolyDataNormals.cxx, line 94
vtkPolyDataNormals (0x8b7b670): No data to generate normals for!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am using latest version of VTK source i,e, VTK-5.0 and cmake2.4.4.And my options in ccmake windows are as follows (I have not used any advanced options):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BUILD_EXAMPLES ON
BUILD_SHARED_LIBS OFF
CMAKE_BACKWARDS_COMPATIBILITY 2.4
CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE
CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX /usr/local
VTK_DATA_ROOT /usr/local/share/VTKData
VTK_USE_PARALLEL OFF
VTK_USE_RENDERING ON
VTK_WRAP_JAVA OFF
VTK_WRAP_PYTHON OFF
VTK_WRAP_TCL OFF
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely Yours,
Sawsan.

I think, it is better to use ccmake, it gives you a better interface,
you can view all the options.
Then, please explain more about your problem. What do you expect to see?
Is it one of vtk examples?
Maybe attach your code?
