*** The paper submission deadline is approaching for the "Open-source
and open data for medical imaging analysis and computer-assisted
intervention" workshop at MICCAI, 2006 ***
*** Open science is going to have a greater influence on the field of
medical image analysis over the next ten years than any other techical
achievement. Come to the open-science workshop to present and learn
more about available and upcoming open science resources, and how
cutting-edge clinical research uses them. ***

Papers are nominally due July 1. HOWEVER, if you "promise" to also
contribute two reviews to other papers submitted to the open workshop,
then you may submit papers up to July 10th!

The Insight Software Consortium (ISC) and
The National Alliance for Medical Image Computing (NA-MIC)
are hosting a one-day MICCAI workshop that will feature oral and
poster presentations on open-source toolkits and applications as
well as freely available data.
We strongly encourage researchers with papers accepted at MICCAI to
submit companion papers on the role of open-source software in their
MICCAI research. Papers related to medical image analysis research
not presented at MICCAI are also welcome!

Papers will be peer-reviewed. Papers will be selected for oral or
poster presentation at the workshop. All papers and reviews will
be published in the upcoming Insight Software e-Journal:

Notification of decision: On or about September 1, 2006
Paper format: Please use the Insight Journal template for your
submission. To ensure quality reviews, we recommend that papers be

Our goal is to make this conference "nearly free." Unlike last
year, due to higher conference service fees, it is not possible for
authors (or organizers) to receive free attendance. The attendance
fee will match the conference service fee being charged to us.
