[vtkusers] Run VTK for the first time

Hey, Folks,

I am a newbie who tries to run VTK for the first time.

So far I installed and compiled cmake & VTK
based on what the README file says,
and also downloaded the data file
http://www.vtk.org/files/release/5.0/vtkdata-5.0.1.zip.

Now I don't know what to do ...to run VTK.

I am using Cygwin in Windows-XP.

When I type VTK from Cygwin or from the START menu,
only two black and white(about half of the black window) windows are popping up.


Can anyone help me out from here?
