[vtkusers] Rendering without graphics card

Hello VTK users,

Is it possible to do volume rendering on a machine that doesn't have 
graphics card (or force it not using graphics card even if it is 
installed)? Does VTK support soft rendering?

We have a fairly large cluster, each node has a fast cpu and large memory,
but no graphics card. I wonder if I could use the cluster to do
visualization work, that is, cpu-based rendering.
