[vtkusers] window level sooo smooth

Hi all,
 I was looking at how vtkImageMapToWindowLevelClamps implements its
window/level function. I am only allowing one thread to do window/leveling,
and am running in debugging mode, and the function is still really smooth
even with an image size of 1000x1000 pixels. I would have expected the
looping over all 1000*1000 pixels to be a real killer, but I don't see any
difference in responsiveness. How is the class maintaining such good
responsiveness? I'm just curious,
