After reading the FAQ, I think this can be done but having never used this tool before I want to verify it before I proceed.

I have four models in Wavefront (.obj) format.  These models are in world coordinates and fit together, one on top of the other.

I would like to use VTK to decimate the triangle count of two of the models, and write the resulting model back out in Wavefront (.obj) format just like it was before without any scaling, translation, or rotation to them...just reduced triangle count.

Can this be done with VTK, and can it be done in Java?
