[vtkusers] Installation trouble on Linux Workstation 3

I have downloaded and installed the following modules to try and
accomplish this:

MayaVi-1.4
Imaging-1.1.5
cmake-2.0.6
VTK-4.2

Even after compiling and install VTK, Imaging complains that it cannot
find TKinter: when running mayavi from the prompt, the following
occurs:

File "/usr/bin/mayavi", line 286, in ?
    import Tkinter
ImportError: No module named Tkinter
