[vtkusers] [vtkuser] moving actor through a path

hi all,

after calculation i got alot of points as a path. and now i need to move
actor, as example like vtkSphereSource, to follow that path of points?
i have read the manual, but still confuse, is it actor or rendering
responsibility.
is there any information/pointer for me to solve my problem?
oh, btw im using java5, vtk4.2, and windows as platform.
