Okay-

For future reference, it looks like I just needed to add a
vtkVolumeProperty with ShadeOn.

Thanks,

Subject: [vtkusers] problem rendering volume with vtkBMPReader

Friends-

I'm trying to load a series of (sequentially numbered) 8-bit BMPs into a
volume using vtkBMPReader, a vtkVolumeRayCastMapper, and a vtkVolume.
If I forgot to allow 8bit images, I got a volume which looks wrong, but
is approximately the right shape (that is, a rectangular prism composed
of slices) When I remembered to Allow8BitBMPOn, I got some sort weird
shape that has the correct slice on both ends, but the middle part
doesn't show up as slices, and indeed, it changes (shifts and sometimes
disappears) as the prop is rotated. It almost looks like a solid
triangular prism.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
-m
