[vtkusers] vtkImageData issues

Hi,
 	Tried to post this as a folowup to my bug report #1128 but it didn't 
get posted.

Looks like the behaviour I'm seeing is related to the following discussed 
earlier:

Has there been any more discussion on changing this for an upcoming release?  I 
understand it would be a pretty big change but just wanted to know if anyone is 
thinking about this.  Thanks.
