Hi Curtis,

The way I understand it, software rendering is all you get unless you 
have a driver for your video card that enables hardware acceleration 
through OpenGL.

On my RH9 system, I use an nVidia card (cheap Quadro550) and their driver.  
Works well, but it's binary-only (so I recon I'll burn for it).
