[vtkusers] Mutiprocessor Compilation

Hi.
Is vtk4.2 compatible with multiprocessment? Where can I find documentation? Do I need extra stuff while compiling the package for multiprocessor support?
I use winXP and vtk on Python2.3 with intel xeon processors.
