[vtkusers] convertin polydata into imagedata

Hi,

Is there a simple way of converting polydata into imagedata?

I have probed a volume with several planes to get some planar polydata 
coloured according to the data values and now I want to convert each 
plane into an image.

Essentially what I want to do is to remove the geometry in the polydata 
to leave a structured grid of scalars that I can save to as a png image.
