[vtkusers] OS X Python Carbon Valid Pixel Format??

Currently, there's only a default pixel format specified. If a hardware-accelerated format for that pixel format is not available, the request fails. You mentioned that you're running on an older PowerBook, so that's likely what is happening. Currently, VTK makes one request and reports on either failure or success.

Requesting the pixel format should be able to choose the "best available" pixel format. I'll have to check the Carbon code to see if it does that. There isn't an API available for changing the pixel format requested by VTK

Which PowerBook are you using? If there a graphics card installed at all?
