[vtkusers] Freezing VTK output window

Hi,

I am a novice in VTK. I tried opening a MBP in MS VC++
using vtkBMPReader class....btu got an error which I
think is "cannot open file" . i am not sure of the
error coz the output window vanishes with in a
fravtion of a second.

Can you please tell me how to freeze the output window
to see the error?
can you please send me the code for opening a BMP
image please?
