[vtkusers] how to test consistency of a vtkPolyData ?

Hello, 

I have some vtkPolyData that I would test for consistency.

i.e. does any point referred by triangle cells exist ?
Is there a way to check this ?

It seems that it could make decimations functions hang.
(vtkQuadricClustering and vtkDecimationPro)
