[vtkusers] _desperatly_ need a way of clipping 3D surface with a 2D polygon

I cannot manage to clip a 3D xyz surface according to a 2D 
xy polygon.

If someone has any clue, I would be glad to hear of it.
any beginning of solution would be warmly welcome.
