[vtkusers] No image in vtkRenderWindow

I have built VTK4.0 on a i386-linux and run it remotly from home where I
have Dell Windows2000 connected with the internet through dsl modem.
The X server on my Dell is X-win32 5.3. I use SSH to connect to linux machine
and start X session on my home machine. Then I start vtk. A small window
appears on my Dell. When I source some script from Graphics/Testing/Tcl another
window pops up on my screen, but it is completely black. Changing background
in renderer does not have any effect. No error messages.
vtkActor GetBounds
shows that the model was read all right.
A side question.
If I connect Dell through
D-link to my DSL modem ( have a simple network of three computers),
then I cannot get any X windows on my screen. If anyone
figured out these two problems, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Boris Yamrom

P.S. The same happens in Imageing/Testing/Tcl, so the problem is not related
to 3D.
P.P.S. xterm and xclock are working OK.
